Fraunhofer IBMT and BioKryo GmbH are presenting under the framework “Labor der Zukunft” October 8 – 10, 2013 at the Biotechnica fair in Hannover, Germany. Main topics are biobanking solutions and mobile lab technology. Please find us at the joint booth of Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft in hall 9, booth E09.
The initiative “Labor der Zukunft” is showcasing its expertise in lab technology at the LABOTEC SUISSE fair. Following the successful first set of missions for the German environmental specimen bank (ESB) the mobile epilab is presented May 15-16t at Beaulieu Lausanne, Switzerland, by Fraunhofer IBMT and Bischoff+Scheck AG.
In it`s first series of missions, the mobile epiLab is currently in Halle (Saale). March 19 and 20, 2013 samples are collected for the human part of the German environmental specimen bank (ESB). The mission follows the same scheme as in Münster two months ago.
Fraunhofer IBMT and Bischoff + Scheck present the mobile epiLab at the Medtec fair in Stuttgart. From February 26 to 28, 2013 the flagship of the initiative “Labor der Zukunft” is to be visited in hall 5 at booth E20.
After the successful mission in the framework of the German environmental speciman bank (ESB), the mobile epiLab shows another advantage. The cryo tank with all the samples is transferred within the vehicle to its final destination without ever breaking the cold chain. This time it is only a short trip to the archive of the German environmental specimen bank being located in the south of Münster (Westfalia), Germany. For the next samplings in Halle (Saale), Greifswald and Ulm it will be a longer journey. But not more effort. The picture shows the project leaders at Fraunhofer IBMT, Dr. Dominik Lermen (group manager human samples-environmental specimen bank) and Daniel Schmitt (group manager lab technologies) transferring the samples from the trailer to the archive.
Following the rehearsal at the Medica fair last November the mobile epiLab is in its first field survey from January 25-26, 2013. The sampling for the human part of the German environmental specimen bank (ESB) takes place in Münster (Westfalia), Germany, for the first time in a mobile lab only. Anamnesis, dental record and blood draw take place in the medical treatment area. Blood and urine are analyzed in the adjacent lab block. The samples are deep frozen already in the vehicle in a cryo storage tank.
A docking site for industrial partners has been established at Fraunhofer IBMT in St. Ingbert. A versatile and modular lab environment has been implemented in an operational biological safety lab. It enables developers without access to biological laboratories to test and evaluate design studies, prototypes and products in a realistic environment. Products from our partners Soventec, EBV Electronics, RRC power solutions and TU Braunschweig are currently implemented and under evaluation.

Fraunhofer IBMT and Bischoff+Scheck AG proudly present their newest mobile laboratory at Medica 2012. The trailer has been designed and built in the framework of the project “Labor der Zukunft” funded by the government of Germany’s Saarland represented by Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer, Minister-President. Volker Scheck, managing director of Bischoff+Scheck, hands over the mobile laboratory to Prof. Günter R. Fuhr, director of IBMT.
Weitere Informationen folgen in Kürze.
