Biomedical Engineering Goes Digital – IoT & Industrie 4.0 für Biomedizin- und Labortechnik

Auch in den Bereichen Biotechnologie, (Bio)Medizin- und Labortechnik sind die Begriffe IoT (Internet of Things) und Industrie 4.0 (die sogenannte vierte industrielle Revolution) mittlerweile in aller Munde.

Wie werden Forschung, Entwicklung und Industrie durch diese innovativen Konzepte beeinflusst und welche Chancen ergeben sich dabei in den weiten Feldern der Lebenswissenschaften und der Gesundheitswirtschaft?

Labor der Zukunft e. V. und das Fraunhofer-Institut für Biomedizinische Technik IBMT wollen am 06. September 2016 angeregt mit Gästen darüber diskutieren und laden daher zur Veranstaltung „Biomedical Engineering Goes Digital - IoT & Industrie 4.0 für Biomedizin- und Labortechnik“ nach Sulzbach/Saar an den Hauptsitz des Fraunhofer IBMT ein.

Die Experten des Labor der Zukunft e. V. und des e.V., die Wissenschaftler und Entwickler des Fraunhofer IBMT, sowie die Anwendungsingenieuren unseres Vereinsmitgliedes EBV Elektronik und NXP haben ein vielfältiges und interessantes Tagungsprogramm (Einladungsflyer folgt in Kürze) zusammengestellt.

Neben hochkarätigen Vorträgen können Sie als weiteres Highlight im Technologieträger des Fraunhofer IBMT, dem „Labor der Zukunft” und im NXP-IoT Truck die neuesten IoT- und Industrie 4.0-Lösungen und deren Anwendung live erleben.

“Labor der Zukunft” at ACHEMA in Frankfurt

MESSKO,THIEMT and Fraunhofer IBMT are representing “Labor der Zukunft” at this years edition of ACHEMA. Taking place 15 – 19 June 2015 in Frankfurt, Germany, ACHEMA is recognized as the world forum for chemical engineering, process industry and technology summit in this field. The initiative has an information booth in hall 5.1, stand D89. Main attraction will be the outdoor presentation of innovative laboratory technology in front of hall 4. ArabLab 2015

The ArabLab 2015 in Dubai, UAE features from March 23rd to 26th laboratory and instrumentation equipment for the Middle East, Africa, and the Indian Sub-Continent. THIEMT is presenting in the framework of the “German Pavillon” (booth number 537) it’s competences in planning and realization of laboratories and buildings. Mobile laboratories as key competence of the network “Labor der Zukunft” (future’s lab technology) are showcased together with Fraunhofer IBMT.

epiLab 2015 ESB tour

2015 sees the team of Fraunhofer IBMT on tour again for the German ESB. Traditional kick-off is in Münster, Westfalia. This year’s third edition of the sampling with the mobile epiLab is a special one: Federal Environment Minister Dr. Barbara Hendricks visited the team. Together with Maria Krautzberger, President of the German Federal Environment Agency, she got an impression of efficiency and quality of the sampling for the ESB.

Medica 2014

This year’s Medica features an information booth of Labor der Zukunft e.V. A special focus is on mobile medical units and laboratory solutions being highly asked by international customers. A new prototype of the multi reader tool is presented by Fraunhofer IBMT together with Soventec GmbH. It showcases pre-analysis identification of samples using a multitude of recognition features: low and mid frequency RFID as well as one and two dimensional barcodes. Also a logging approach for blood bags is shown allowing event triggered logging of the quality related sample temperature.

Medtec Europe 2014

This year’s Medtec Europe sees the first joint exhibition of the recently founded Labor der Zukunft e.V. From 3rd to 5th of June, seven members present their expertise and competences: BioKryo GmbH, EBV Elektronik GmbH, Fraunhofer IBMT, Tecan Deutschland GmbH, Thiemt GmbH and Woll Maschinenbau GmbH.The mobile epiLab is the main exhibit and can be presented within the hall similar to last year.

Founding of Labor der Zukunft e.V.

The association Labor der Zukunft was founded February 3rd, 2014 at the State Chancellery of the Saarland. Jürgen Lennartz, head of the State Chancellery and host commented in its opening speech the rapid transition from a technology initiative to an independent association spreading all over Germany. Senior executives from 11 companies and institutions signed the founding contract.

Mobile epi lab tours the Saarland

The mobile epi lab was open for visitors parallel to the vaccination campaign in the mid of November. In addition to a public presentation of the vehicle with its lab technology a deeper insight in the mission for the German environmental specimen bank was given. At weekdays a special offer was made for local highschools. More than 160 pupils took the occasion to have a hands-on experience with medical-analytical instruments and to learn more about the technical installations of the mobile unit.

Influenca vaccination campaign

Fraunhofer IBMT joint forces with Saarland’s medical doctors and offered a vaccination campaign against the seasonal viral influenca. The mobile epi lab was used as a mobile medical unit and allowed on-site vaccination. The picture shows MD Joachin Meiser of Saarland`s association of statutory health insurance physicians and Gaby Schäfer representing Saarland`s ministry for health.

Visit us at Medica in Duesseldorf, Germany

November 20-23, the initiative “Labor der Zukunft” takes part again in the Medica fair in Duesseldorf, Germany. Fraunhofer IBMT presented on last year’s MEDICA a novel mobile medical unit together with Bischoff+Scheck AG. This year, impressions from the first campaign collecting human samples for the German environmental specimen bank are shown at the booth. As a technology demonstrator, Fraunhofer IBMT and Soventec GmbH are showcasing a mobile, multifunctional reader for biomedical sample tubes. Identification and characterization of tubes is an integral part of the laboratory workflow. Please visit us at booth B09 in hall 7a.
